If you want your kitchen to run faster and cleaner, the best upgrade is not “one more knife”, but a proper set: 5 truly useful blades + storage that protects the edges and keeps everything within reach. Marttiini CKP Knife Block Set (1475010) delivers exactly that – a practical everyday kit with a stable knife block and a carefully selected lineup that covers most tasks in a home kitchen.

Why this set simply makes sense

Five knives you actually use – not filler, but purpose-built tools for real tasks.
Knife block that protects edges – blades are separated, reducing contact and helping them stay sharp longer.
Faster work, less fatigue – each knife is the right length and shape, so you’re not forcing one blade to do everything.
Also a strong gift option – practical, clean-looking, and genuinely useful.

What’s included

The block is made from white beech and holds five essential kitchen knives: paring/roots knife, vegetable knife, fillet knife, bread knife, and a chef’s knife. After hand washing, you can dry and store the knives in the block – a simple routine that helps keep them in good condition longer.

Inside the set: what each knife is for

Chef’s knife 21 cm (CKP Kokkiveitsi 21) – the everyday workhorse for slicing, chopping, and portioning. The length gives control over larger ingredients (e.g., cabbage, melon), while the solid blade feels stable and confident in hand.

Bread knife 19.5 cm (CKP Bread Knife) – a serrated edge for clean, even slices without crushing. Also excellent for tomatoes and firm vegetables, and for thinly shredding cabbage.

Fillet knife 19 cm (CKP Filetti 19) – a flexible blade for smooth, precise filleting. It also works well for trimming membranes/silverskin on meat when you need control without tearing.

Vegetable knife 10 cm (CKP Vihannesveitsi) – light and accurate for fine slicing (including thin tomato slices), decorative cuts, and quick everyday tasks. It also handles small fish very well.

Paring/roots knife 7 cm (CKP Juuresveitsi) – for peeling and small prep with maximum control. Ideal for garlic, ginger, and fruit – where a short blade is an advantage.

Manufacturer recommendation: hand wash (for longer life and better edge retention).

Care that actually keeps knives sharp

Hand wash, dry immediately, and store in the block – the easiest routine for long-term edge health.
Do not soak knives in water; moisture and salts are the enemy of a clean, stable edge.
Sharpen lightly but more often – it keeps the blade “alive” without aggressive material removal.

Safety warning: Knives are sharp and can be dangerous. Store in the block, keep away from children. Cut away from your body and work on a stable cutting board.
