Rossi 8122M Hunting Rifle.22 WMR • Bolt Action • 21″ / 53.3 cm • Synthetic Stock
Rossi 8122M is a rimfire hunting rifle with a traditional bolt-action mechanism, designed around practicality, comfortable handling and straightforward mechanical operation. This model combines the .22 Winchester Magnum Rimfire cartridge, a 21-inch free-floating barrel, a black synthetic Monte Carlo stock and a detachable 5-round magazine. A receiver prepared for Weaver-style scope mounting bases completes the rifle's functional configuration.
Rossi 8122M – Traditional Bolt-Action Rifle in .22 WMR
Rossi 8122M combines the familiar mechanics of a manually operated bolt-action rifle with a practical synthetic stock and a compact rimfire cartridge.
The rifle uses a bolt-action system, with the bolt operated manually. This traditional mechanism provides a direct mechanical arrangement for chambering and extracting cartridges.
The .22 WMR calibre, also known as .22 Magnum, is a rimfire cartridge. The rifle is chambered specifically for this calibre, while its 21-inch barrel defines the proportions and balance of this configuration.
The Monte Carlo synthetic stock, black-finished metal components and provision for mounting a telescopic sight give Rossi 8122M its functional character.
Key Features
A manually operated system valued for its straightforward mechanical design and direct bolt control.
A popular rimfire cartridge used for target practice and legally permitted hunting applications.
The series features a free-floating barrel arrangement designed to avoid continuous contact between the barrel and the stock.
A contoured stock with a raised cheek area, practical textured surfaces and durable synthetic construction.
A single-stack magazine holding five cartridges, matched to the Rossi 8122M configuration.
The receiver is prepared for Weaver-style mounting bases compatible with suitable scope mounting systems.
Mechanical Design and Controls
The manually operated bolt is the central mechanical component of the Rossi 8122M. Its traditional action provides direct control over the rifle's operating mechanism.
Cross-Bolt Safety is a transverse push-button safety positioned at the front of the trigger guard. It allows the safety mechanism to be placed in its corresponding position.
The cocking indicator provides visual information about the striker mechanism through a visible coloured component at the rear of the bolt.
Black metal components are combined with a synthetic stock for a practical, understated appearance.
21-Inch Barrel and Monte Carlo Stock
The barrel measures 21 inches, approximately 533 mm. It forms part of the 8122M series' free-floating design, intended to minimise unwanted contact between the barrel and the stock.
The Monte Carlo stock features a contoured upper profile and a raised cheek area. This established rifle-stock design helps provide a comfortable head position when using appropriate sighting equipment.
Textured gripping areas add practicality to the synthetic stock, while the black finish complements the rifle's classic appearance.
Weaver Scope Mounting Preparation
Rossi 8122M features a receiver prepared for Weaver-style mounting bases, an established system for attaching compatible scope mounts and optical sights.
The 8122M series is designed to accommodate Weaver bases, allowing flexibility when selecting compatible optics.
When choosing a scope and mounting system, the compatibility of the bases, required mounting height and equipment fitted to the individual rifle should all be considered.
.22 WMR Calibre – Characteristics and Applications
.22 WMR is a small-calibre rimfire cartridge also widely known as .22 Magnum.
It is used in sporting and hunting rifles where its application is lawful and suitable for the intended purpose.
Rossi 8122M is chambered for .22 WMR. Safe operation requires ammunition that precisely matches the calibre marked on the firearm.
