ATA Arms NEO Walnut is a classic inertia-operated hunting shotgun chambered in 12x76, combining a stock and forend made from selected Turkish walnut with a modern, simple and dependable operating system. This configuration features a 71 cm / 28" barrel, a standard ventilated rib, a fibre-optic front sight and a set of five interchangeable chokes.
With an approximate weight of 3.1 kg, a 4+1 capacity with 70 mm shells and a well-balanced construction, the NEO Walnut is a practical choice for hunters who value the traditional appearance of walnut but want the easy maintenance and cleaner operation of an inertia-operated semi-automatic system.
The action of the ATA Arms NEO Walnut uses recoil energy to cycle the shotgun. The inertia-operated system consists of three primary working components: the bolt body, inertia spring and rotating bolt head.
The limited number of moving parts contributes to fast cycling, dependable operation and easy maintenance. With an inertia system, combustion gases are not directed into an operating mechanism under the forend, so most firing residue remains inside the barrel.
The absence of a heavy gas cylinder under the forend contributes to the shotgun’s reduced weight and natural balance. This is especially useful during extended carrying and when tracking fast-moving targets.
Bolt body, inertia spring and rotating bolt head form a simple system with a limited number of moving parts.
Provides secure steel-to-steel locking between the bolt and barrel.
Less fouling inside the main action and easier cleaning after hunting.
The approximate 3.1 kg weight supports comfortable carrying and fast target acquisition.
The stock and forend of the NEO Walnut are manufactured from selected Turkish walnut with an oil finish. The natural material gives the shotgun a traditional hunting appearance, a pleasant surface and an individual wood-grain pattern on every example.
The ergonomic stock shape supports natural mounting to the shoulder, while the shaped forend provides a stable grip during target tracking. The warm walnut colour is combined with a black barrel and a black gloss receiver.
Every stock has its own grain, shade and character typical of natural walnut.
Highlights the natural wood structure and preserves the traditional feel of a walnut stock.
Traditional grip, stock and forend geometry for comfortable and repeatable mounting.
The 71 cm / 28" barrel is a versatile configuration for a wide range of hunting situations. It offers a good balance between smooth tracking, practical overall length and comfortable movement in the field.
The standard ventilated rib supports natural pointing and provides good visual control when tracking moving targets. Unlike the NEO Walnut Stream, this model uses a conventional rib rather than a specially raised rib design.
The fibre-optic front sight remains clearly visible under changing light conditions, while the chrome-plated bore simplifies cleaning and improves durability during extended use.
Versatile barrel length for smooth tracking and different hunting applications.
Conventional low-profile rib for natural mounting and pointing.
Good visibility and fast visual acquisition under changing light conditions.
The bolt of the NEO series is manufactured from premium alloy steel and precision-machined using modern CNC equipment. After final machining, it receives a hard chrome finish.
The chrome finish reduces friction, simplifies cleaning and improves corrosion resistance. The rotating bolt head locks directly into the barrel and provides secure engagement during firing.
A strong foundation for long-term and dependable operation of the bolt system.
Precision manufacturing and accurate fitting of the primary operating components.
Reduced friction, improved corrosion resistance and easier maintenance.
The NEO trigger mechanism can be removed as a complete module from the bottom of the receiver after taking out a single steel retaining pin. The system is designed to simplify cleaning, inspection and servicing.
After maintenance, the module can be installed quickly back into position. The cross-bolt safety is located behind the trigger guard and is easily accessible during a normal shooting grip.
The complete trigger unit can be removed as one module for easier thorough cleaning.
Positioned behind the trigger guard for fast and intuitive operation.
The safety button can also be configured for a left-handed shooter.
The module can be reinstalled easily after servicing is complete.
The NEO platform includes a shim kit for adjusting stock drop and cast. This allows the stock position to be adapted according to the shooter’s build, stance and individual mounting technique.
Two 5 mm spacers are also provided for changing the length of pull. Correct fitting supports natural shoulder placement and more consistent alignment with the sighting rib.
Adjustment of drop and cast according to the shooter’s build and shooting technique.
Two 5 mm components for adjusting the length of pull.
More repeatable shoulder placement and faster alignment with the sighting rib.
The platform allows the use of a recoil-reducing system inside the stock.
The receiver is precision-machined from a high-strength lightweight aluminium alloy. The reduced weight supports good balance and makes the shotgun more comfortable to carry for extended periods in the field.
The black gloss finish combines naturally with the walnut stock and black barrel. Grooves are machined into the top of the receiver for the installation of a compatible mounting base.
Keeps the overall weight low without sacrificing the necessary structural strength.
Traditional appearance that highlights the natural colour of the Turkish walnut.
Receiver grooves for the installation of a compatible mounting base.
The ATA Arms NEO Walnut is supplied with five interchangeable chokes: F, IM, M, IC and SK. The different constrictions allow the shot pattern to be adapted according to distance, ammunition and type of hunting.
The choke must always be compatible with the ammunition and the manufacturer’s instructions. Before firing, check that it is installed correctly and tightened securely.
The NEO Walnut is suitable for hunters seeking a traditionally styled semi-automatic shotgun with a genuine walnut stock, a versatile 71 cm barrel and an inertia-operated system that is easy to maintain.
The approximate 3.1 kg weight supports comfortable carrying, while the balanced construction contributes to smooth target tracking and fast follow-up pointing. The five-choke set allows the shotgun to be adapted to different hunting situations.
The lightweight construction is comfortable during extended carrying and movement in the field.
The balanced design and inertia system support fast follow-up pointing.
Selected Turkish walnut with natural grain and a traditional hunting appearance.
Simple inertia operation and a removable modular trigger mechanism.
The history of ATA Arms is connected with founder Celal Yollu, who produced his first shotgun in 1955 at only 13 years of age. Decades of experience and continuous development have established ATA Arms as an internationally recognised manufacturer of semi-automatic shotguns, over-and-under shotguns and bolt-action rifles.
ATA Arms also produced the first bolt-action rifle developed in Turkey – the TURQUA. The NEO series follows the same brand philosophy: traditional hunting materials combined with modern CNC manufacturing, dependable mechanics and practical construction features.
