The Bergara BA13 Take Down .308 Win is a single-shot, break-action hunting rifle that prioritizes functionality, a straightforward operating mechanism, manageable dimensions and the quality of a Bergara barrel.
Unlike bolt-action or semi-automatic rifles, the BA13 uses a break-open design with a single barrel and chamber, without a detachable magazine. This gives the rifle a clean profile and reduces the number of principal moving components.
This specific configuration is identified by factory reference BA113A-308: a conventional black synthetic stock, .308 Winchester chambering, a 20″ / 51 cm barrel, factory open sights and a threaded muzzle. It is the standard synthetic-stock version of the BA13 Take Down.

The barrel is a defining component of any centerfire rifle. The BA13 Take Down uses 4140 CrMo steel, a chromium-molybdenum alloy selected for its suitable strength and mechanical characteristics.
This particular version has a 510 mm / 20″ barrel and a 1:12″ rifling twist rate. This means the rifling completes one full revolution in every twelve inches of barrel length.
The muzzle diameter is approximately 17.5 mm. The exterior features a matte black finish, giving the rifle an understated and practical appearance.
The compact barrel is combined with an overall rifle length of approximately 890 mm, resulting in a manageable configuration for different lawful hunting applications.
Break Action describes a system in which the barrel assembly opens relative to the receiver. On the BA13, this single-shot arrangement is a defining mechanical feature.
