A compact Spanish-made single-shot hunting rifle combining a traditional break-action mechanism, a precision-manufactured steel barrel and a practical green synthetic stock. The BA13 Take Down Standard Green focuses on straightforward mechanics, convenient dimensions and compact disassembly. This specific configuration is chambered in .223 Remington, with a 20-inch / 51 cm barrel and manufacturer reference BA113-223G.
The Bergara BA13 Take Down .223 Rem Standard Green is a single-shot, break-action rifle built around mechanical simplicity, quality manufacturing and manageable dimensions. It combines the traditional character of a break-action hunting rifle with modern materials and Bergara's established barrel-making expertise.
Unlike bolt-action and self-loading rifles, the BA13 has no magazine. It uses a single chamber and a steel barrel assembly that opens through the break-action mechanism. This creates a straightforward platform with a clean profile and a compact action.
This version features a standard green synthetic stock. Its conventional shape distinguishes it from the Thumbhole variant, which incorporates a shaped opening for the thumb. The Standard Green configuration retains a traditional stock profile with a practical grip and fore-end.
A mechanically straightforward system with a capacity of one cartridge, without a separate magazine or automatic cycling mechanism.
The rifle can be separated into its principal components without additional tools, allowing more compact storage and transportation in accordance with applicable regulations.
A 20″ / 51 cm barrel manufactured from 4140 CrMo steel, with a blued finish and a 1:8″ twist rate for this .223 Remington version.
A fiberglass-reinforced polymer stock with ambidextrous ergonomics, designed for practical outdoor use and easy maintenance.
A cushioned buttpad designed to provide more comfortable contact between the stock and the shoulder.
The BA13 platform uses a Weaver-style mounting rail intended for compatible optical sights and mounting systems.
Take Down is Bergara's designation for the construction that allows the rifle's principal components to be separated. The assembled rifle retains its traditional profile, while the separated components occupy less space during secure transportation.
The Break Action mechanism uses a barrel assembly that pivots open relative to the receiver. Unlike a conventional bolt-action rifle, the system does not employ a longitudinally moving bolt.
The BA13 combines a compact overall length, a single-shot mechanism, an ergonomic synthetic stock and functional equipment. The Take Down designation describes the disassembly system, not unrestricted interchangeability of barrels or calibers.
The BA13 Standard Green barrel is made from 4140 CrMo steel, a chromium-molybdenum alloy used in precision barrel manufacturing. Its black blued finish provides a traditional, understated appearance.
This particular configuration has a 510 mm / 20″ barrel and a 1:8″ rifling twist. This means the rifling completes one full revolution in every eight inches of barrel length.
The catalog muzzle diameter is 17.8 mm. The combination of a 51 cm barrel and an overall length of 89 cm creates a compact rifle configuration suitable for lawful hunting and sporting applications.
The stock is made from polymer reinforced with fiberglass, combining practical durability with straightforward maintenance in outdoor conditions.
The conventional stock design is suitable for right-handed and left-handed users. Textured gripping surfaces improve comfort and handling.
The cushioned rear section of the stock is designed to provide comfortable shoulder contact and complement the synthetic stock's functional construction.
The Standard Green color creates an understated hunting-rifle appearance and complements the dark metal components.
The BA13 series employs an external hammer and a break-open barrel assembly. This mechanism is characteristic of traditional single-shot hunting rifles and has a compact mechanical layout.
The opening control is located in the area of the trigger guard. The external hammer's thumb extension is designed to accommodate different preferred hands.
The rifle has no detachable magazine or self-loading mechanism. Its single-shot configuration offers the straightforward design associated with classic break-action firearms.
The BA13 Take Down series features a DuraSight® Weaver-style optics rail for compatible mounts. The BA113-223G is a factory configuration without mechanical open sights.
The barrel is factory threaded 5/8″-24 UNEF. The threaded section measures 15 mm. Compatibility with any muzzle accessory must be checked for the precise firearm configuration and caliber.
