Atammik GTX – where low weight becomes part of comfort

Härkila Atammik GTX Dark Brown are designed for active hunting, long walks and demanding terrain where support and freedom of movement are equally important. Rather than relying on a heavy full-leather upper, the boots use durable Cordura as their primary material, reinforced with oiled nubuck in selected areas.

The textile construction helps reduce weight and dries faster than a conventional all-leather upper. The GORE-TEX Sierra membrane protects against external moisture, while the semi-stiff outsole provides support on uneven ground.

The natural Dark Brown colour coordinates easily with hunting trousers, outdoor jackets and equipment in woodland shades.

Eight reasons to choose Härkila Atammik GTX
01 · CORDURA®
Abrasion-resistant textile construction

A robust upper material that dries faster than traditional leather and allows the upper to remain relatively breathable.

02 · GORE-TEX SIERRA
Protection against external moisture

A waterproof, breathable membrane for walks through wet vegetation and changing weather conditions.

03 · UTURN
Adjustment without tying laces

A rotating dial and cable for convenient tightening, loosening and fine-tuning of the fit.

04 · EUROSUOLE FIREFOX
Italian outsole

A treaded, semi-stiff outsole designed to provide support across a variety of natural surfaces.

05 · OILED NUBUCK
Oiled nubuck reinforcements

Selected leather components improve durability without requiring the entire upper to be made from heavy leather.

06 · SHOCK ABSORPTION
Cushioned midsole

A lightweight cushioning layer that softens each step and supports comfort over long distances.

07 · REINFORCED CONSTRUCTION
Protective rand and reinforced seams

A durable lower protective edge and reinforced stitching for increased resistance to everyday outdoor wear.

08 · ERGONOMIC FIT
Shaped footbed and roomier last

An anatomically shaped footbed and a slightly wider base designed to support the natural shape of the foot.

Cordura, nubuck and GORE-TEX – different materials, distinct functions

Cordura® is a durable textile fabric used in equipment designed to withstand demanding conditions. In Atammik GTX, it forms the primary upper material, contributing to lower weight, breathability and relatively quick drying after exposure to moisture.

Oiled nubuck is natural leather with a distinctive fine surface. It reinforces selected areas where additional resistance to wear is beneficial.

GORE-TEX Sierra is the membrane layer that restricts water penetration from outside while allowing moisture vapour to escape. The exterior textile may become wet without this necessarily indicating a failure of the membrane. Proper material care helps preserve the overall performance of the footwear.

UTURN – easy entry and precise fit adjustment

The UTURN closure uses a rotating dial and a strong, thin cable in place of traditional textile laces. It makes adjusting the fit convenient, particularly when the boots need to be put on repeatedly or adjusted during an outdoor trip.

PRACTICAL GUIDE · UTURN
Five steps to a comfortable fit
  • 1. Put on the boot with the socks you intend to use outdoors and position your heel fully at the back.
  • 2. Tighten the closure by turning the dial in the tightening direction until the boot fits comfortably.
  • 3. Check toe room: your toes should still move naturally without excessive pressure across the front of the foot.
  • 4. Walk a few steps. If the heel moves excessively, adjust the tension gradually.
  • 5. To release the closure, turn the dial in the opposite direction and remove the boot without pulling on the cable.

The photograph shows the actual Atammik GTX model and the location of the UTURN mechanism.

Servicing advice: the UTURN cable or dial may be serviced through an authorised representative. If the mechanism is damaged, do not force it; request assistance in identifying the correct replacement kit.
GORE-TEX Sierra – waterproof protection in wet conditions

The waterproof GORE-TEX Sierra membrane is designed for use in rain, wet grass and damp woodland environments. It restricts water from entering through the boot's construction while helping moisture vapour escape from inside.

The internal system incorporates GORE-TEX Performance Comfort, intended to provide comfort during active use in varying weather conditions.

Factory waterproof testing
  • The membrane construction is subjected to water-bath testing during manufacture.
  • An additional 5% of manufactured boots undergo a 30-minute centrifuge test.
  • These procedures form part of quality control for the waterproof membrane system.
Practical consideration: even waterproof boots may become wet inside if water enters over the ankle opening or travels down socks or trousers. For deeper water, taller waterproof boots are needed.
Eurosuole Firefox – a stable foundation for outdoor movement

The Eurosuole Firefox outsole is manufactured in Italy and features a tread designed for traction across different natural surfaces. Its medium stiffness balances underfoot support with comfort during extended walking.

The cushioning midsole and shaped footbed enhance comfort, while the protective rand helps shield the lower boot from abrasion.

PRACTICAL GUIDE · TERRAIN
Getting the most from your boots
  • Woodland trails: remove accumulated mud from the outsole tread regularly.
  • Rocks and roots: step carefully. A semi-stiff outsole provides support but cannot eliminate the risk of slipping.
  • Long walks: check that the UTURN system is not overly tight as your feet change slightly in volume.
  • Wet surfaces: adapt your pace and footing, especially on smooth stone or ice.

How to choose the correct boot size

Atammik GTX features a slightly wider last than more narrowly constructed footwear. This offers additional room, but it does not automatically mean that everyone should choose a smaller size. Foot length and individual foot shape remain essential.

01
Measure both feet

Place your heel against a wall, mark the longest toe and measure the distance. Use the longer foot when considering your size.

02
Try on with the right socks

Wear socks of similar thickness to those you will use for hunting or hiking.

03
Test the fit while walking

Your heel should remain secure, while your toes have enough room, including when walking downhill.

Useful advice: measure your feet towards the end of the day. If you are between sizes, have a high instep or an especially wide forefoot, contact MoskovHunt before ordering.

The manufacturer's size range for this model is EU 40–48. Current size availability is shown in the product options at MoskovHunt.

Cordura and nubuck care – proper maintenance

As Atammik GTX combines textile Cordura with natural nubuck leather, maintenance should be suitable for both materials. Use products intended for waterproof-membrane footwear and avoid harsh cleaning agents.

01
Clean after each outdoor trip

Remove dried mud with a soft brush. Clean dirty surfaces with water, avoiding excessive scrubbing.

02
Allow natural drying

Remove the footbeds if needed and leave the boots in a ventilated place, away from radiators, stoves and intense direct heat.

03
Restore the outer protection

Treat Cordura with a suitable water-repellent spray for textiles. Use a dedicated oiled-nubuck care product on the leather sections.

Five important maintenance rules
  • Do not oil Cordura: leather oils are not intended for the primary textile upper.
  • Avoid direct heat: high temperatures can damage leather, adhesives and membrane-related components.
  • Use compatible products: cleaners and water-repellent treatments should be suitable for GORE-TEX footwear.
  • Preserve the colour: nubuck conditioners may darken the Dark Brown finish. Test on a small hidden area first.
  • Inspect the closure: gently remove mud from UTURN and check the cable for signs of wear.

For regular use, Härkila recommends periodic treatment approximately once a month, with more frequent care during intensive use.

Suitable conditions and seasons

Atammik GTX is a practical choice for active hunting, extended woodland walks, uneven terrain and hiking. Its lightweight construction and cushioning support comfort during walking, while GORE-TEX Sierra is designed for wet conditions.

Seasonal suitability: these are not heavily insulated winter boots. For deep snow, ice or prolonged exposure to very low temperatures, select specialised footwear.
