The HIKMICRO T16 is an intelligent trail camera designed for remote wildlife monitoring, hunting grounds, agricultural land, private property and isolated outdoor locations. Its integrated 4G connectivity transmits captured photos, videos and alerts to the HIKMICRO Sight app, reducing the need for frequent visits to the installation site.
The camera combines a native 6 MP sensor with output photos up to 24 MP, Full HD 1080P video, a selectable dual field-of-view system, dual PIR sensors, a 0.4-second trigger speed, discreet 940 nm infrared illumination and 64 GB of integrated storage.
The T16 detects movement through its dual PIR system, records the event and transmits selected media through the 4G network to your phone. This allows you to monitor activity around feeding areas, animal trails, water sources, agricultural land or remote property without regularly entering the monitored zone.
Photos, videos and notifications are managed through HIKMICRO Sight according to the selected camera settings and active data plan.
Remote access reduces the need to remove or open the camera frequently and limits human presence in the monitored area.
Captured media helps identify activity times, direction of travel and recurring movement through the monitored location.
The HIKMICRO T16 provides a choice between two different fields of view. The same camera can therefore be adapted to a narrow woodland trail, feeding site, property entrance or a wider open monitoring area.
The dual PIR system expands the detection zone and improves sensitivity to actual movement. The camera algorithms help distinguish relevant movement from interference caused by wind, leaves, branches and background changes.
Wider coverage and more reliable movement detection throughout the monitored area.
The camera reacts quickly enough to capture passing wildlife and short-duration events.
A practical detection range for trails, feeding sites, clearings and larger open monitoring areas.
The camera uses a native 6 MP sensor and produces UHD images with output resolution up to 24 MP. This distinction is important: 24 MP is the maximum output photo resolution, while the physical sensor resolution is 6 MP.
High output resolution makes it easier to inspect animals, identifying details and the environment around them.
Day and night video provides useful detail for analysing behaviour and direction of movement.
Select one, two or three consecutive photos per trigger for a more complete record of short events.
The infrared system operates at 940 nm and is designed for discreet night-time recording. The camera does not use a bright visible flash that could attract attention or disturb animals after dark.
Suitable for cautious wildlife and discreet monitoring around isolated property.
The camera changes between colour daytime imaging and infrared night operation according to ambient light.
The absence of a visible flash reduces the likelihood of changing the behaviour of monitored wildlife.
The camera registers motion in the selected monitoring zone.
It captures a photo, photo burst or video according to the configured settings.
Selected media is transferred through the available mobile network.
Captured media and notifications are viewed in the HIKMICRO Sight app.
Multi-roaming connectivity searches for a suitable supported mobile network in the operating region.
The device is added to HIKMICRO Sight by scanning its QR code and following the pairing instructions in the application.
During installation, the phone connects to the camera Wi-Fi hotspot so the framing and angle can be checked before final placement.
An active data plan is required for remote 4G transmission. The plan is selected and managed through the HIKMICRO ecosystem. Available packages, supported countries, included data, validity periods and prices may change and are therefore not fixed in this product description.
The link opens the official HIKMICRO page in a new tab. The data plan is a separate service managed according to the current terms of the manufacturer.
HIKZone extends the management of compatible cameras through a map-based interface showing device locations, monitored zones and recently detected activity. In supported versions of the application, detected animals can be shown using approximate, blurred location markers without revealing the precise coordinates of the camera.
More convenient management when several cameras are deployed across different monitoring areas.
According to HIKMICRO, T16 data is hosted on servers located in Europe.
Information is protected during transmission and storage within the HIKMICRO system.
The HIKMICRO T16 supports two power options: twelve AA batteries or four rechargeable 18650 cells. The choice can be adapted to the accessibility of the installation site, trigger frequency, 4G signal strength and operating temperature.
A practical solution when fast replacement with widely available batteries is preferred.
A rechargeable option for repeated use with suitable quality cells and a compatible charger.
The compatible optional solar panel can extend the time between maintenance visits.
The T16 stores photos and videos in 64 GB of built-in memory. This simplifies initial setup and removes the risk of using a slow, incompatible, incorrectly formatted or damaged external memory card.
There is no need to purchase, format or maintain an additional SD card.
Captured content remains stored inside the camera and can be managed through the supported application functions.
One frequent cause of trail-camera problems—an incompatible or defective memory card—is removed from the system.
Install twelve matching AA batteries or four compatible 18650 cells in the correct holder. Check polarity and ensure that the battery compartment closes securely.
Download the current Android or iOS version of the application, create a user account or sign in to an existing profile.
Switch on the T16, open the add-device function in the application and scan the QR code on the camera. Follow the on-screen instructions until pairing is complete.
Select a suitable T16 data plan through HIKMICRO Sight or the official HIKMICRO page. Confirm that the plan is active and that the camera reports sufficient 4G signal.
Use 60° for a narrow trail or concentrated monitoring zone and 100° for a clearing, feeding site, yard or wider coverage requirement.
While standing near the camera, connect to its Wi-Fi hotspot and use the live image to check the horizon, angle and coverage before final mounting.
Select photo, video or combined recording, the required resolution, burst count, sensitivity and notification behaviour according to the monitored terrain.
Aim the camera at the expected movement zone without large branches, tall grass or direct sunlight immediately in front of the PIR sensors. Keep the lens and infrared emitters unobstructed.
Walk through the monitored area, confirm that the camera triggers and check that the received image covers the intended zone. Adjust the angle if required.
Close the housing completely, ensure that no dirt is trapped around the seals, position the antenna correctly and secure the camera firmly.
Use the more concentrated field of view and position the camera at a slight angle to the expected direction of travel.
The wide 100° field of view provides more information about animals and their surrounding environment.
Position the camera so that the entrance area falls within both the image frame and the PIR detection zone.
Monitor battery level, mobile signal, data-plan status and camera condition through the application.
The original adjustable mount for the HIKMICRO T16 simplifies installation on trees, walls, posts and other stable surfaces. Its integrated ball joint allows precise camera alignment, after which the selected position is secured through the screw-locking mechanism.
