MINOX RS-4 3–12×56 i Ret.4 Hunting Riflescope 56 mm • ≥90% light transmission • SFP • parallax 10 m – ∞

MINOX RS-4 3–12×56 is the RS-4 configuration designed for demanding low-light conditions and situations where a large 56 mm objective, magnification up to 12× and adjustable parallax are required in one well-balanced optical system.

The exact standard version is No. 80413880 with illuminated Reticle 4. It should not be confused with the separate RS-4 3–12×56 BDC No. 80414287, which uses an additional BDC turret.

The strength of the 3–12×56: MINOX positions this configuration for longer distances and low-light use, where the 56 mm objective and maximum 12× magnification provide a clear practical advantage.

56 mm Low-Light Optics
Large 56 mm objective for demanding light conditions
56 mm large objective lens

A configuration developed by MINOX for low-light hunting and observation at longer distances.

Why does 56 mm matter?

The large objective diameter allows the optical system to gather more of the available light during early morning and late evening conditions.

The RS-4 series uses ED glass elements with multi-layer coatings, while MINOX specifies light transmission of at least 90%. The result is designed to deliver a bright, high-contrast image with clearly distinguishable detail.

This is why the 3–12×56 occupies the low-light position within the RS-4 range rather than simply being a larger version of the other models.

3–12× Magnification
From a broad overview to detailed 12× magnification

The 4× zoom range starts at 3× and extends to 12×, providing a useful balance between general observation and greater image detail when higher magnification is required.

3X
3× magnification

At minimum magnification, the field of view reaches 13.3 m at 100 m.

12X
12× magnification

Higher magnification provides more detailed observation at greater distances.

4X
4× zoom ratio

The 3–12× range maintains a practical balance between field of view and detail.

Parallax Compensation
Adjustable parallax from 10 metres to infinity

RS-4 3–12×56 features parallax compensation from 10 m to ∞. This allows the optical system to be matched to different viewing distances and becomes particularly useful at higher magnification.

10M
From 10 metres

The adjustment starts at a short distance, expanding the practical flexibility of the riflescope.

∞
To infinity

One adjustment range covers the full practical distance spectrum.

12X
Useful at 12×

Parallax compensation becomes particularly relevant when higher magnification is used.

Illuminated Reticle 4
Fine illuminated Reticle 4 with 10 brightness levels

The exact standard model uses Reticle 4 in the second focal plane – SFP. The red centre dot uses fibre-optic illumination and can be adjusted through 10 brightness levels.

R4
Reticle 4

A classic hunting reticle configuration with a clearly defined central area.

10
10 brightness levels

The intensity of the red dot can be matched to the current ambient-light conditions.

3H
Automatic power saving

The illumination switches off automatically after approximately 3 hours without use.

High-Contrast Optics
ED glass, multi-layer coatings and ≥90% light transmission

MINOX uses ED optical elements with multi-layer coatings in the RS-4 series, designed to support high contrast, natural colour reproduction and a bright image across changing light conditions.

ED
ED optics

The optical system is designed for high sharpness and contrast.

90+
At least 90%

MINOX specifies light transmission of at least 90% for the RS-4 series.

MC
Multi-layer coatings

The coatings support brightness, contrast and overall image quality.

Field of View & Eye Relief
13.3–3.3 m field of view and 90 mm eye relief

At 3× magnification, field of view is 13.3 m at 100 m, while at 12× it is 3.3 m at 100 m. Eye relief is specified at 90 mm.

13.3
13.3 m / 100 m

Field of view at minimum 3× magnification.

3.3
3.3 m / 100 m

Field of view at maximum 12× magnification.

90
90 mm eye relief

Officially specified eye relief for the model.

Precision Mechanics
Metric adjustment with clearly defined clicks

Mechanical adjustment is 1 cm at 100 m per click. The low-profile turrets are part of the characteristic RS-4 design and help maintain a clean, compact overall profile.

1CM
1 cm / 100 m

A clear metric value for every adjustment step.

LOW
Low-profile turrets

Keep the overall silhouette clean and limit unnecessary bulk.

30
30 mm tube

A standard main-tube diameter with a broad range of compatible mounts and rings.

This is the standard No. 80413880 model. The BDC turret belongs to the separate No. 80414287 version and is not attributed to this product.
Weather Protection
Nitrogen filling and waterproof protection down to 4 metres

The riflescope is nitrogen-filled and protected against internal fogging. MINOX specifies waterproof performance down to 4 m for 30 minutes.

N2
Nitrogen-filled

Helps reduce the risk of internal fogging during temperature changes.

4M
4 m / 30 min.

Waterproof performance officially specified by the manufacturer.

745
745 g

The official weight of the standard non-BDC version is 745 grams.
