If you’re looking for a call that can actually pull a fox and make a predator step out of cover, Nordik Crying Bird is built for that. It sounds like a real bird in trouble—panic, sharp cries, chaos. Predators read it as easy prey.

What it’s made for

Crying Bird is developed to imitate bird distress sounds—a strong trigger for fox and other predators. With one call you can go from quieter “nervous” cries to sharper, aggressive series. With a short steady airflow you can also get a very realistic “rabbit distress” variation.

Most important: don’t blast it nonstop. Short series + a pause works better. The pause is often where the predator commits.
1) “Woodpecker in distress” – sharp, in series

Blow short, intense bursts and add “trrr, trrr, trrr”. Make it emotional and chaotic—not flat.

Trick: 2–3 series of 2–3 seconds, then pause.
2) “Small birds distress” – quieter, more nervous

Blow carefully and let the air move both out and in through the call (blow → inhale through the call → blow). This creates a trembling, natural tone.

Rhythm: 2–4 short combos, then pause.
3) “Rabbit distress” variation – steady flow

Push a short, steady airflow through the call to get a convincing rabbit distress variation. Use it as a change-up after bird distress.

Golden timing on stand (works if you stick to it)
Calling 15–30 seconds (short series, not constant)
Pause 1–2 minutes complete silence
Total time 15–25 minutes per stand, then move
Why the pause matters: predators often commit during silence. Calling nonstop can make them stop and scan instead of closing distance.
