PARD Osprey 4K 256 Multi-Spectral Binocular – 25 mm Thermal, 1000 m LRF

Thermal observation, 4K digital day/night imaging and laser distance measurement in one compact binocular with dual OLED displays. This is the specific 256×192 thermal / 25 mm / LRF configuration, combining two complementary imaging technologies without the need to carry separate thermal and digital devices.

One binocular. Two imaging technologies. A more complete view.

PARD Osprey 4K 256 Multi-Spectral Binocular 25 mm LRF combines a 256×192 thermal detector and a 3840×2160 4K digital image sensor for daytime and nighttime observation. The two channels operate differently: thermal imaging detects temperature contrasts, while the digital channel captures visual details using available light or supplementary infrared illumination.

This combination is useful for wildlife observation, nature exploration, outdoor surveys, property monitoring and responsible field observation. The thermal channel operates without an IR illuminator. In very low light, the digital night-vision channel can benefit from the detachable infrared module.

Exact configuration: this product page refers exclusively to Osprey 4K 256 with a 25 mm thermal objective and an integrated 1000 m LRF. It is not the Osprey 4K 384, a 35 mm variant or the earlier non-4K Osprey.

Two complementary imaging channels
THERMAL · 25 MM
Observe temperature differences

256×192 VOx detector with 12 μm pixel pitch, 50 Hz refresh rate and NETD ≤15 mK. Maximum specified thermal detection distance: 1200 m under defined conditions.

DAY / NIGHT · 50 MM
See fine visual details

3840×2160 4K sensor with 0.001 lux sensitivity, 50 Hz image rate, 50 mm objective and OIS in the night-vision channel.

The channels complement each other but have different resolutions, magnification levels and fields of view. The most useful channel depends on ambient light, temperature contrast and the type of information needed.

256×192 thermal sensor – 25 mm lens and NETD ≤15 mK

The thermal system uses an uncooled VOx (vanadium oxide) detector with 256×192 pixels, a 12 μm pixel pitch and 50 Hz refresh rate. Its NETD ≤15 mK sensitivity supports the visibility of small temperature differences in the observed environment.

This specific configuration features a 25 mm thermal objective, 4× optical magnification and selectable 2×, 3× and 4× digital zoom. The field of view is 7° × 5.3°, corresponding to 12.3 × 9.2 m at 100 m. Focusing is available from 5 m to infinity.

The specified thermal detection range of up to 1200 m refers to detecting a thermal signature under suitable test conditions. It must not be confused with a guaranteed distance for reliable recognition or positive identification.

4K digital day/night sensor with OIS

The second observation channel incorporates a 3840×2160 CMOS sensor with 2 μm pixels, 0.001 lux sensitivity and a 50 Hz frame rate. Its dedicated 50 mm objective provides 5.6× optical magnification, supplemented by 2×, 3× and 4× digital zoom settings.

OIS (Optical Image Stabilisation) is provided for the digital night-vision channel. It helps compensate for some unwanted handheld movement, making the image steadier during observation and recording. It does not eliminate all movement or replace stable handling.

The digital channel has a 6.6° × 3.7° field of view, equivalent to 11.5 × 6.5 m at 100 m, and focuses from 5 m to infinity. Its image depends on available light or additional IR illumination when required.

Three different resolutions: 3840×2160 refers to the 4K digital sensor; 256×192 is the thermal sensor resolution; recorded photos and videos are 1920×1080. Full HD recordings must not be presented as 4K video files.
True binocular comfort – two OLED screens

Osprey 4K incorporates two separate 1920×1080 OLED displays, one for each eye. This dual-eyepiece design makes extended observation more natural than viewing through a single eyepiece for long periods.

IPD (interpupillary distance) can be adjusted from 55 to 74 mm. Diopter adjustment covers −5 to +5 D, with 18 mm eye relief. These settings allow the device to be adapted to individual viewing preferences.

The binocular also provides three scene modes – City, Rain and Forest – along with five image modes according to the product specification, supporting observation in changing environments.

1000 m laser rangefinder and detachable IR illuminator
LRF · up to 1000 metres

The integrated laser rangefinder provides distance measurement directly through the binocular. Maximum ranging performance depends on reflectivity, weather and environmental conditions.

IR · 850 / 940 nm

Detachable infrared illumination with an adjustable beam head. PARD describes an IR illumination reach of up to 350 m under suitable conditions.

Package accuracy: 850 nm and 940 nm are alternative IR-module configurations. This does not mean that both illuminators are included together. Confirm the supplied module for the specific stock batch. IR illumination range is different from the 1200 m thermal detection range and 1000 m LRF range.
Full HD recording, microSD storage and battery life

Despite the 4K digital sensor, photo and video output resolution is 1920×1080. Supported formats are JPG and MP4, while storage uses a microSD card of up to 128 GB. A memory card is not represented as included unless the exact retail package confirms it.

The binocular operates with one 21700 lithium-ion battery rated at 3.7 V. Maximum specified runtime is 4.5 hours. Actual battery life depends on operating mode, temperature, Wi-Fi, IR illumination and battery condition. USB Type-C external power is also supported.

The housing combines AL6061 aluminium alloy and composite materials with IP67 protection. Operating temperature is −30°C to +55°C. Dimensions are 160 × 146 × 65 mm and catalogue weight is 809.5 g.
