The Ruger AR-556 MPR 8535 combines an 18-inch cold-hammer-forged barrel, a rifle-length gas system, a 15-inch free-float M-LOK handguard and the Ruger Elite 452 two-stage trigger. The result is a balanced semi-automatic rifle prepared for sporting use, training and accurate shooting with a wide range of sighting systems.

MPR – Multi-Purpose Rifle describes the purpose of this model. Ruger combines a carefully selected barrel, smooth gas system, upgraded trigger, free-float handguard and Magpul furniture into a factory configuration designed for repeatable performance.
The 5.56×45 NATO chamber also accepts suitable factory-loaded .223 Remington ammunition in accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions. The uninterrupted upper Picatinny rail provides a versatile mounting surface for a riflescope, red dot or compatible backup sights.
