Sightmark Rapid AR 1-4x20 SCR-300, model SM13051 is a compact variable-magnification optic built around the dedicated SCR-300 reticle for .300 AAC Blackout.
Its 1–4× magnification range, wide field of view at low power, 114.3 mm eye relief and compact 221 mm overall length create a versatile optical system for short and medium distances. A robust 30 mm 6061-T6 aluminium tube, IP67 protection, nitrogen filling and pop-up locking turrets complete the design.
The Rapid AR SM13051 combines a low starting magnification with 4× maximum magnification and a dedicated reticle system. At 1×, it provides a wide visual overview, while increasing magnification to 4× offers a more detailed image at greater distance.
At minimum magnification, the field of view reaches approximately 30.9 m at 100 m.
At 4×, the image is magnified for more detailed observation, with a field of view of approximately 7.5 m at 100 m.
The overall length is approximately 221 mm, keeping the system compact.
A specialised reticle with calibrated BDC reference marks for .300 AAC Blackout.
The reticle is etched into glass and positioned in the Second Focal Plane – SFP. Its primary pattern remains visible whether or not illumination is switched on.
Sightmark specifies calibrated BDC reference marks for .300 AAC Blackout with 110 and 120 grain ammunition. BDC means Bullet Drop Compensation – reticle reference marks designed around the approximate trajectory drop of a specified ballistic configuration.
The SCR-300 reticle provides 10 levels of red illumination, allowing intensity to be adapted to different ambient-light conditions.
The broad range allows finer adjustment of reticle brightness to suit the current environment.
The primary pattern remains visible with illumination switched off because it is physically etched into the glass.
Reticle illumination uses one CR2032 battery, a widely available battery type.
The SM13051 reticle is positioned in the Second Focal Plane. This means the visible size of the reticle remains approximately constant as magnification changes.
This design keeps the reticle visually compact from 1× to 4×. When using the calibrated BDC references, the magnification and setup intended for the specific reticle should be followed.
The wide field of view at 1× is one of the key strengths of the Rapid AR 1-4x20, while moving to 4× provides a more concentrated visual image.
Sightmark specifies 4.5 in / 114.3 mm eye relief – the distance between the eye and eyepiece at which the complete field of view can be seen.
The long eye-relief distance helps establish a comfortable and consistent viewing position behind the optic.
The eyepiece is designed for quick magnification changes between 1× and 4×.
Adjustment is made in 1/2 MOA clicks, while the available range is 100 MOA for both elevation and windage.
The Rapid AR uses exposed pop-up locking turrets. They can be unlocked for adjustment and then locked again to reduce the risk of accidental movement.
The exposed design allows fast access to the adjustment controls when required.
The locking mechanism helps preserve the selected setting after adjustment.
The lenses are Fully Multi-Coated, with multiple anti-reflective coating layers applied to the optical surfaces. Their purpose is to reduce unwanted reflections while supporting contrast and light transmission.
Multi-layer treatment helps optimise available light and supports visual contrast.
The small objective maintains a low, compact profile without unnecessary bulk.
The main body is built around a robust 30 mm tube made from 6061-T6 aluminium. This heat-treated alloy provides a practical balance between structural strength and weight.
The metal housing creates a rigid foundation for the optical and mechanical system.
The 30 mm tube can be used with suitable 30 mm rings or a compatible one-piece mount.
The officially specified weight is approximately 19.2 oz / 544 g.
The Rapid AR SM13051 carries an IP67 protection rating. The optic is nitrogen filled, helping reduce internal fogging during temperature changes.
IP67 provides a substantially higher level of environmental protection than simple splash resistance.
Nitrogen filling helps reduce internal moisture condensation.
Sightmark specifies the Rapid AR as a shockproof design developed for stability under mechanical loads.
For this specific model, Sightmark specifies a 100-yard parallax setting. It is not a side-focus or adjustable-objective model.
The fixed setting keeps operation simple and matches the concept of a compact 1–4× optic.
The officially specified overall length is approximately 221 mm.
The specified maximum width is approximately 73 mm.
The specified maximum height is approximately 55 mm.
