The Vector Optics Continental x6 1.5–9×42 G4 is a premium mid-power hunting scope designed for fast use at 1.5× and precise aiming at magnifications up to 9×. The exact SCOM-23 model combines a 42 mm objective lens, a one-piece 30 mm tube, an etched-glass German #4 reticle and an illuminated centre dot with six brightness settings.
Its optical system uses German Schott HT glass, LaREE HD lenses and VePRO FMC fully multi-coated surfaces to achieve light transmission of up to 90%. Adjustments use precise 1/4 MOA clicks, while the Zero Stop system allows the elevation turret to return quickly to the pre-set zero position.
The 1.5–9× range covers close, medium and extended hunting distances without making the scope unnecessarily large or heavy. Low magnification simplifies the acquisition and tracking of a moving target, while 9× provides additional visible detail for exact placement of the centre point.
Image quality is created by the combination of high-transmission Schott HT glass, LaREE HD optical elements and VePRO FMC fully multi-coated surfaces. The system is designed to improve light transmission, maintain clear contrast and reduce unwanted reflections.
The German #4 reticle uses heavier outer posts on the left, right and lower sections, combined with finer lines around the centre. The bold elements guide the eye naturally towards the middle, while the clean central area supports precise aiming at smaller targets.
The reticle is etched into glass and remains visible even when the illumination is switched off or the battery is depleted. Only the centre dot is illuminated, with six brightness settings for adapting it to the ambient light.
The reticle is positioned in the second focal plane – SFP. Its apparent size remains unchanged when magnification is adjusted. This keeps the German #4 easy to recognise and prevents the lines from appearing excessively fine at low power or excessively thick at maximum magnification.
The main posts remain distinct at minimum magnification and support rapid centring.
The visible thickness of the reticle remains unchanged when magnification is increased to 9×.
The shooter sees the same reticle configuration throughout the complete magnification range.
The one-piece 30 mm tube provides substantial internal space for the adjustment mechanisms. Elevation and windage adjustment ranges reach 140 MOA, providing a considerable reserve for system centring, zeroing and compensation for mounting alignment.
One click moves the point of impact by approximately 7.3 mm at a distance of 100 m.
A substantial adjustment reserve according to the rifle, rail and scope-ring configuration.
A broad range for system centring and correction of lateral mounting deviation.
Once the scope has been zeroed, the Zero Stop mechanism limits the return of the elevation turret to the pre-set zero position. This allows temporary elevation corrections followed by a rapid and reliable return to the primary zero.
Eye relief is 100 mm. This provides a safe distance during recoil, supports flexible positioning of the scope on the rifle and helps the shooter obtain the complete image from different shooting positions.
Constant and practical distance between the eye and the ocular lens.
A wide field of view at 100 m for faster identification of the target.
A narrower field of view with a larger visible size of target details.
Angular field of view throughout the complete magnification range.
Parallax is factory-set at 100 yards – approximately 91.4 m. The scope does not use a separate side-focus mechanism, which simplifies operation in dynamic hunting situations.
Diopter adjustment ranges from –3 to +2 and allows the reticle to be focused according to the shooter’s eyesight. The diopter adjustment does not alter the factory parallax setting.
A fixed factory parallax setting for a typical hunting distance.
Diopter compensation for a sharp and clearly focused reticle.
Faster operation without an additional control during hunting.
The housing is manufactured from 6061-T6 aluminium alloy and uses a one-piece 30 mm main tube. The construction provides a rigid support for the optical elements and adjustment mechanisms while maintaining a broad zeroing range.
Protection for operation in heavy rain and demanding weather conditions.
Reduces internal fogging during rapid changes in temperature.
Manufacturer-rated resistance to mechanical shock and firearm recoil.
Reduces unwanted reflections and provides a practical exterior surface.
The Continental x6 SCOM-23 has an overall length of 337 mm and weighs 580 g. The package includes a pair of 30 mm Picatinny scope rings, protective lens caps, a cleaning cloth and accessories according to the factory package.
A pair of scope rings matched to the diameter of the main tube.
Reduce dust accumulation and the risk of scratching the optical surfaces.
Manufacturer lifetime warranty according to the applicable Vector Optics terms.
