The Vector Optics Continental x8 1–8×24i SFP Fiber ED is a premium hunting LPVO designed for fast close-range use and precise aiming at magnifications up to 8×. The exact SCOC-51 model combines true 1× magnification, ED glass, German Schott HT glass, LaREE HD lenses and VePRO FMC coatings with light transmission of up to 93%.
Its German #4 reticle uses an exceptionally bright fibre-optic centre dot that remains clearly visible even in strong daylight. The one-piece 30 mm tube, extensive adjustment range and constant 100 mm eye relief make the SCOC-51 a practical system for small-game hunting, varmint hunting and dynamic field situations.
The 1–8× range allows one optic to cover very different hunting situations. At 1× the image appears at natural scale and supports shooting with both eyes open. Moving towards 8× provides greater visible detail and more precise placement of the aiming point at increased distance.
The centre point uses a fibre-optic illumination system that concentrates the light and creates a strongly defined red aiming point. This is especially valuable during daytime hunting, when a conventional illuminated dot may appear weak against a bright background.
Brightness is controlled through 11 intensity levels on the side illumination dial. Off positions between the working levels allow the illumination to be switched off quickly without rotating through the complete range.
Image quality in the SCOC-51 is produced by a complete optical system rather than the objective diameter alone. The combination of ED glass, high-transmission Schott HT glass, LaREE HD lenses and VePRO FMC fully multi-coated surfaces is designed to provide increased contrast, natural colours and fewer unwanted reflections.
The German #4 reticle is designed for rapid recognition of the centre while preserving a clean view of the target. The heavier outer posts direct the eye naturally towards the central area, while the fine fibre-optic dot allows accurate placement without unnecessarily covering the observed target.
The clearly defined main posts guide the eye directly towards the illuminated centre point.
The fine central area preserves useful visible space around the target.
Suitable for close and medium distances, small game and varmint hunting.
The reticle is positioned in the second focal plane – SFP. Its apparent size remains unchanged as magnification is adjusted. The German #4 layout therefore retains its familiar appearance and line thickness throughout the complete 1–8× range.
The main posts and centre dot remain easy to recognise at the lowest magnification.
The visible thickness of the reticle does not increase when moving towards 8×.
The shooter sees the same reticle configuration regardless of the selected magnification.
The one-piece 30 mm tube provides extensive internal space for the adjustment mechanism. This allows elevation and windage ranges of at least 280 MOA, providing substantial reserve for centring the optical system, zeroing and compensating for mounting alignment.
One click moves the point of impact by approximately 14.5 mm at 100 m.
A substantial adjustment reserve for the rifle, mount and rail configuration.
A broad range for system centring and correction of lateral mounting deviation.
Eye relief remains at 100 mm throughout the complete 1–8× range. This simplifies mounting, provides a safe distance during recoil and helps the shooter obtain the full image from different shooting positions.
Constant eye relief throughout the magnification range.
An exceptionally wide linear field of view at 100 m.
A narrower field with greater visible target detail.
Angular field of view across the complete zoom range.
Parallax is factory-set at 100 yards – approximately 91.4 m. The scope does not have a separate side-focus mechanism, simplifying operation during dynamic hunting situations.
The diopter adjustment range is –2 to +2 and is used to focus the reticle according to the shooter’s eyesight. It does not alter the factory parallax setting.
Fixed factory parallax setting for a standard hunting distance.
Diopter compensation for a sharp and clearly focused reticle.
Simplified and faster operation in rapidly changing conditions.
The housing is manufactured from 6061-T6 aluminium alloy and uses a one-piece 30 mm main tube. This provides a rigid platform for the optical elements and adjustment mechanisms without unnecessary joints in the central load-bearing section.
Complete dust protection and resistance to immersion in 1 m of water for 30 minutes.
Reduces internal fogging during rapid temperature changes.
Rated resistance to mechanical shock and firearm recoil.
Reduces unwanted reflections and provides a practical exterior.
The package includes a pair of 30 mm Picatinny scope rings, lens caps, a spare elevation turret, a plastic tool, a cleaning cloth and the user manual.
A pair of scope rings matched to the diameter of the main tube.
An additional component for configuring the elevation adjustment mechanism.
Reduce dust accumulation and the risk of scratching the optical surfaces.
