The Winchester SXR² Field ADJ combines a traditional wooden stock, an adjustable cheekpiece and a proven gas-operated semi-automatic platform. This configuration is chambered in .308 Winchester and features a 530 mm barrel, factory M14×1 muzzle thread, detachable box magazine and a total capacity of 3+1 rounds.
The adjustable cheekpiece supports more precise alignment with the mounted optic. The rotating bolt locks directly into the barrel through seven locking lugs, while the 15 mm Inflex II recoil pad improves shoulder contact and control during consecutive shots.
The Field version retains the classic appearance of a hunting rifle through its wooden stock and fore-end, while adding a functional adjustable cheekpiece. Its height can be matched to the chosen riflescope, red-dot sight and mounting system.
Correct cheek contact supports a repeatable head position, faster acquisition of the optic’s field of view and a more natural sight line. This is particularly useful when the optic is mounted higher above the receiver.
When the rifle is fired, part of the propellant gas is directed into the operating system. This movement drives the bolt assembly, unlocks the action, extracts and ejects the fired case and feeds the next cartridge from the magazine.
Part of the recoil impulse is used to operate the mechanism instead of being transferred entirely to the shooter’s shoulder. Together with the Inflex II recoil pad, this supports more controlled recoil and faster recovery of the sight picture.
Part of the expanding gas is directed into the operating system.
The gas piston transfers movement to the bolt assembly.
The rotating bolt releases its locking lugs after chamber pressure falls safely.
The fired case is extracted from the chamber and ejected from the rifle.
The next cartridge is fed and the bolt locks into the barrel again.

The detachable box magazine holds three cartridges. With one cartridge in the chamber, the total capacity of this configuration is 3+1.
The detachable design simplifies separate magazine removal, visual inspection and safe unloading. The magazine remains positioned close to the lower line of the receiver.
The open sights are designed for fast alignment during dynamic hunting situations. The rear sight has a Battue-style profile, while the fibre-optic front sight provides a clearly visible reference point in changing light conditions.
Collects available light and creates a visible reference point at the end of the barrel.
The sights can be adjusted with a suitable 1.5 mm hex key.
The receiver accepts suitable mounting systems designed for the Winchester SXR² platform.
The enlarged bolt handle is easier to operate in cold weather and while wearing hunting gloves. The bolt hold-open device allows the action to remain open for visual inspection.
The cross-bolt safety is positioned in the trigger-guard area and can be configured for the preferred direction of operation by a qualified specialist.
