HQS Special Impact Suppressor – 7.62 mm (.30) is a premium model from the Bulgarian manufacturer HQS, built for hunters who want maximum sound reduction, strong recoil reduction, and a practical design with a replaceable suppressing chamber—especially for powerful hunting calibers.
Special Impact is the natural evolution of the HQS line—designed for higher pressures and real-world use. It combines a two-chamber concept (gas flow separation), robust construction, and very high performance, measured under MIL-STD-1474D.
- Sound reduction: 42+ dB (MIL-STD-1474D)
- Noticeable recoil reduction—better control and faster sight picture recovery
- Less shoulder fatigue during longer hunts
- More stable behavior with optics/thermal sights
Despite its serious volume and efficiency, Special Impact is designed to remain practical in the field. According to the manufacturer, overall length is 302 mm and it adds 206 mm to the barrel. You get “big suppressor” performance without unnecessary rifle length.
A key advantage of Special Impact is the concept that the suppressing section (second chamber) can be replaced as a consumable component, according to the manufacturer’s design philosophy. This matters for shooters with higher usage: instead of replacing the whole unit, you can renew the working section and keep performance consistent over time.
The manufacturer recommends that thread sleeve/parts replacement is performed by an authorized HQS representative. Always follow local laws and the official documentation.
The up to 7.62 mm (.30) version is aimed at powerful hunting calibers and heavy use for stalking and ambush hunting. The manufacturer highlights excellent performance with calibers such as:
- 6.5×68
- 6.5 PRC
- .270 WSM
- 7 RemMag
- .300 WSM
- .300 WinMag
- 8×68S
- 9.3×62 (depending on the exact version/configuration)
13×1 · 14×1 · 14×1 (LH) · 15×1 · 16×1 · 17×1 · 18×1 · 1/2"–20 UNF · 1/2"–28 UNEF · 5/8"–24 UNEF
- Not suitable for barrels over 22 mm diameter.
- Before firing, confirm the suppressor is fully tightened and has no play.
- Before use, check visually and by gently shaking that no foreign objects are inside.
- Unscrew the tube from the body using the key.
- Thread the suppressor body onto the barrel until it stops.
- Turn the colored locking screw, then the remaining screws on the stop ring until they touch the barrel (do not force).
- Back off the three screws by 1/2 turn.
- Remove the body from the barrel.
- Tighten the tube back onto the body using the key.
- The suppressor is now set for that barrel.
- Condensation forms after shooting—remove the suppressor immediately after use.
- Do not exceed 6 shots per minute to avoid overheating.
- Do not disassemble when hot—let it cool (burn hazard).
- Avoid sharp/abrasive tools.
- Do not use petroleum or alcohol-based cleaners (vapors may be dangerous on the next shot).
- Wash hands after cleaning—residue may contain harmful substances.
- The manufacturer recommends dedicated suppressor cleaners—follow the product label.
With powerful calibers, post-shot control is everything. Special Impact delivers a softer impulse and steadier rifle behavior, meaning faster sight recovery, more confident follow-ups, and less fatigue during long hunts.
